The Glenurquhart Highland Gathering & Games is a highlight of the Scottish Highland Games calendar. Held annually on the fourth Saturday in August, it features thrilling heavyweight events like caber tossing and hammer throwing, alongside Highland dancing, piping, and competitive track events.

World Female Heavy Events Championship

This year we are establishing the World Female Heavy Events Championship in Scotland for the first time! This groundbreaking event celebrates women's strength, skill and place in our Highland Games community.

More than just competition, this is a historic moment of inclusivity and we’re proud to take a step forward in supporting the progress and achievements of our female athletes.

Our 2025 Chieftain

This year, we are proud to welcome Mr. Roy MacGregor as our Chieftain. Roy has had a long association with the Glen Urquhart Highland Games, having served for over 27 years as our Treasurer. His legendary practical skills have been invaluable in preparing Blairbeg for its annual big day.

With his deep knowledge of the Games, his strong community ties, and his tireless volunteer spirit, Roy’s appointment as Chieftain of the Glen Urquhart Highland Games for 2025 is both fitting and warmly welcomed by all.
